Welcome to the home of Ardenwood Flat-coated Retrievers.
We are Joe and Patti Skorupa, located in the San Francisco Bay area of California. We have been part of the flatcoat community for over thirteen years, when we adopted our first flat-coated retriever. We are devoted to our flatcoat companions, and are very involved in the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America. We are also members of the FCRSC.
Patti is an administrator for the FCR Health Database, and recently joined the FCR Cancer Studies Support Group. She was a member of the FCRSA Board of Directors and is involved in FCR rescue.
Joe is now an AKC hunt test judge, and is looking forward to his first assignment in March, 2011.
We hope that you enjoy our "web-site in progress", and that you find it informative. We plan to include information about our extended flatcoat family, and about Flat-coated Retrievers in general.
We had two wonderful weeks at the FCRSA 2010 National Specialty, where Dodger earned his Working Certificate, his first Junior Hunter leg, a Judge’s Award of Merit in Unsteady Singles B, and made the cut in Best of Breed. Zip passed the Working Certificate Excellent test, earned a Judge’s Award of Merit in Steady Singles and placed second in a very competitive Field Trial Dog conformation class.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like information about this wonderful breed. We are always happy to talk about our dogs, and to help you decide if flatcoats are the breed for you.
